Tencent Yuanbao

Tencent Yuanbao is Tencent’s AI assistant, and its distinguishing feature is searching WeChat Official Account articles — content that general search engines index poorly, which makes it useful for Chinese-language primary sources.

It also lets you switch between Tencent’s own Hunyuan models and DeepSeek, so you can ask the same question of a different model and compare. It connects to WeChat, which makes sharing answers easy, and you can hand it an Official Account article to summarise.

As a standalone product, though, it is not strongly differentiated: chat, writing and file reading are things every assistant does. It is mostly the natural pick for people already living in Tencent’s ecosystem, and the one thing that is genuinely hard to replace is the Official Account search.

5. When you spot a long article, send it the link and read the summary first.

Best for

• Chinese primary sources: industry news, policy commentary and local information that often appear only on Official Accounts.
• Skimming long WeChat articles: read the summary, then decide whether the original is worth your time.
• Comparing models: ask the same question of different models and cross-check.
• Heavy WeChat users: login and sharing both happen inside WeChat.
