WPS AI

WPS AI is the set of AI features Kingsoft Office has built into WPS Office. It lives inside China’s most widely used office suite: draft and rewrite in documents, write formulas and analyse data in plain language in spreadsheets, generate slides in one click, and summarise or query PDFs.

Compared with standalone AI writing or slide tools, the idea is that you never leave your office software. You open the same WPS you always use, and the AI entry points sit inside each component — if you want to rewrite something mid-draft or cannot remember a formula mid-calculation, you call it up on the spot.

The main appeal is not changing how you work, which suits individuals and organisations that rely heavily on WPS. Generated slides look template-driven, though, and formulas and analysis should be checked.

How to use

1. Install the latest WPS Office, or visit the WPS AI website to find the entry point, and sign in with a WPS account.
2. Open a document, spreadsheet or presentation and find the AI button in the toolbar.
3. Describe what you need, such as “calculate year-on-year growth from columns A and B” or “create a deck for an annual review.”
4. Review the result and choose to insert, replace or regenerate.
5. Check formulas and analysis, and adjust generated text and slides by hand.

Best for

• Everyday official documents and reports: Draft notices, summaries and proposals quickly, then revise.
• Spreadsheet work: People unfamiliar with functions can handle common calculations in plain language.
• A deck on short notice: Generate a framework for an impromptu presentation, then fill in specifics.
• Reading long documents: PDF summaries and Q&A help you grasp the key points of contracts and reports.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

• Embedded in familiar office software, so your workflow stays the same.
• Covers documents, spreadsheets, slides and PDFs under one membership.
• Well adapted to Chinese documents and local office conventions.

Limitations

• Generated slides look template-driven; anything with real design flair still takes lots of adjustment.
• Formulas and analysis can be wrong and must be checked.
• Full features need a membership, and free usage is limited.
• Of no interest if you do not use WPS, and it does not work in other office suites.
